Today we had our long awaited ultrasound. The kids got to join Matt and I as we watched the technician try to take pictures of my caffiene crazy baby (they told me to drink a softdrink, evidently combining that with some chocolate makes for one fast moving baby).
We got to see his perfect heart beating. Four beautiful chambers moving quickly (153 beats per minute). Two perfectly shaped kidneys and a functioning bladder. A sweet round belly. Legs that were moving all around with two little feet on each end. His hands kept waving and moving to right in front of his face(we got a great picture of him waving "hello". His lips were so tiny and sweet. His face looks like my other Siak baby's did at this age. And lastly, the technician gave us the great news that Noah and Ella would have a brother.
The doctor was really pleased with all the ultrasound pictures. She told us that while we are not guaranteed that everything is perfect (no one is based off an ultrasound) she felt secure saying that he is just fine. The fact that his hand was opening and closing is a sign that he doesn't have Trisonomy 18 or any other chromosonal deficiency. All of his major organs are functioning perfectly. How blessed are we to have this perfect miracle growing in my belly!
My blood pressure was once again normal. I had only gained a half pound this month which brings my pound total to 5 1/2 for this pregnancy (fantastic). And she changed the color of my folder from red to blue, which means I am no longer considered high risk!! We talked about some of my symptoms, I am showing signs of developing carpel tunnel syndrome and she assured Matt that my mood swings are normal :) And the fact that I am eating like I am at a buffet after a long fast is ok too, as long as my weight gain doesn't drastically increase.
We are so thankful to be on this journey of bringing home our last child. Blessed, thankful, ecstatic, sleepy, and content. Hopefully I'll have some pictures to share soon!
A look into the daily lives of Matt, Sarah, Noah, Ella and Luke... and the people traveling with us on the journey.
