Oh, Deer.

On Monday morning Ella and I had the front door open. All the sudden I saw one, two, three... deer cross the road from our property to the field across the street from us. In total there were FOURTEEN deer that made their way across the road! It was fun to watch!

"Don't you dare swaddle me"

Luke is hot natured. He's not into being swaddled at all. If you try, he will work and work until his little feet poke out the bottom. And when he sleeps, he sprawls out... I love every bit of those skinny chicken legs.

The last few pictures are of our 3 kids together. The pictures bring tears to my eyes each time I look at them. I feel so undeserving to be so blessed! My children are absolutely incredible.

Easter Egg Hunt at Grannys

The Cousins

Sweet Benjamin

I got to hear all about how much fun the kids had finding eggs. Noah, Jack, and Nick got to have their hunt in the backyard, and Ella and Benjamin shared the side yard. I hated to miss it but am so glad Matt took pictures for me!

Earth Day

The kids and Matt went to celebrate Earth Day (because we are so earth-friendly) at Lowe's by picking up our free tree (even sweeter - we got a $10 off your Lowe's purchase coupon) and to make bird houses at the Build and Grow Lowe's Saturday program. If you have children, and a Lowe's near by, check out their free Saturday program, our kids love to build things and it's free!

Easter!

Matt, Noah, and Ella headed out early this morning to go to church to celebrate Easter. Then they are heading to Granny's for a fantastic lunch, playtime with the brothers (all 6 will be together!) and a fantastic lunch. Since Luke isn't even 3 weeks old yet, he and I are staying home to worship via the FBC Opelika on the internet and get some more rest before our normal schedule resumes tomorrow. In the quiet of today I am reminded of how blessed I am. To be such an undeserving sinner who was rescued by her Savior. Who is alive and living today.

Heading to church and for Easter lunch at Granny's.

2 Weeks Post-partum

I love my doctor. And nurse. I feel overwhelmingly blessed to have had Dr. H as my doctor the past 9 months. She is leaving the practice in a few months, and I'm so glad she got to walk with me through Ella's and Luke's births. And everything looked spectacular today at the visit!

Luke decided to stay awake for a little while this afternoon. I thought I would take a picture to let you know that he has the cutest dimples ever.
And at over 6 pounds now, he looks like he's trying to get a double chin!

Aunt Bekah Time!!

Last weekend Aunt Bekah came up for a visit. Not only did she get to see Luke, but she gave plenty of love/attention/craft time to Noah and Ella. They crafted some pretty cool visors, wands, and had fun just hanging out. She's an incredible aunt!

"Reading" Her Book

Ella was waiting for Nana to finish up and come read a book with her on the couch. I looked over and she had grabbed Nana's reading glasses and was trying to see with them on. It was hilarious! I yelled for mom to grab my camera to capture my silly girl posing with glasses.

Katy Cook Photography

Well, Katy has done it again. Taken absolutely perfect pictures of my little one. A few weeks ago she captured some of Ella that are priceless! This morning she spent over an hour posing Luke in different positions, with different props, making him look so precious. She posted this one as a sneak peak this afternoon and it brought tears to my eyes. I am so thankful to have her photographs to capture this quick moving time in his life! As soon as she sends me more, I will post them! PS: Her website is http://www.katycookphotography.com/ if you want to see more of her work! She is an amazing photographer!

Papa Scoggins came to visit

Papa came to visit us today! We loved getting to spend time with him. This is going to be a busy week with all the family that is coming in. More pics will follow soon!

Naptime!

Matt sneaks home to take naps every once in awhile on his lunchbreak. This week Luke and Matt took one together.

Crafting with Nana

Nana and the kids made windchimes in the backyard. They look fantastic!

Big Sister

Ella asks several times a day if she can hold Luke. She does a great job (with supervison). And Luke loves her too. Here he is smiling while she was holding him. I love watching my kids love each other!

A visit with Dr. Errico

Today we had a weight check up/jaundice/etc with Dr. Errico. Everything looks great! Luke has just a touch of jaundice. He's gaining back the weight he lost and is at 5 lb 15 oz. And he left the nurse a present when he went to the bathroom all over the table today :) We don't have to go back until next week!

April 5th?

I had told Mary last week that I wouldn't be surprised if I had Luke on Tuesday. Tuesday was my last Non Stress Test/Pre-Op appointment before my scheduled csection on Thursday. The doctor wasn't having the best morning, her schedule was packed, and I jokingly said to her," let's go ahead and have this baby today" as they were hooking me up to the machine, and I don't think that she wanted to squeeze a csection into her packed day. Luke looked good on the monitor, but I had to stay on it longer than normal because he didn't want to want to wake up. When it came time to check my blood pressure it was 160/110, my highest to date. I went in the room for only a minute to wait on the doctor, and I could hear her calling the hospital trying to figure out when we could schedule the surgery for. Tuesday was going to be Luke's birthday! Mom, Ella, and I left the doctor and hurried home, I had less than two hours to get back up to the hospital. I ran around the house grabbing things, fed Matt, and then he and I were off to the hospital. The section was scheduled at 3:00 and we were blessed to have some wonderful nurses in Triage. As well as you tube to watch comedians online (you could hear Matt's laugh all over the floor). Things got pushed back a little bit because the doctor couldn't get there in time. Dr Travis was on call that day, and she would have to do the surgery. At 4:00 we found out that Dr. Harrington was on her way, because she wanted to do my surgery herself. I was so excited to see her face! It was great to start this adventure and end it with the same doctor. At 4:15 they took me back. Mary stayed with Matt while they hooked me up and I faced the dreaded spinal. It wasn't that bad. They let me choose what music I wanted to be played while Luke was born (sorry if this dissappoints anyone) and so they switched between the Beatles and CCR on pandora throughout the surgery. Matt came in by 4:30, and at 4:38 Luke Steven Siak took his first breath! The big difference in this section and the others, is that they have this incredible camera system now. As soon as he went to the warmer, the anesthesiologist pulled a flat screen over to me that was streaming video over the bassinett. I got to watch everything they did to Luke! After only a few minutes with Luke, the pediatrician on call came over to tell me that everything was perfectly fine. This started my crying all over again. What an answer to prayer that our little man was perfectly healthy - no NICU. Overall this delivery, the nurses that took care of us, my recovery, the support of family and friends... have all been so amazing, so much more than we could have dreamed of or asked for.

Luke's First Bath (Rated G)

30+ years ago my grandmother (mom's, mom) came to Oklahoma to give me my first "at home" bath once I had gotten home from the hospital. When I had Noah, my mom gave him his first bath. Same with Ella. So today, it was time for Luke's first at home bath and Nana was there once again to give him it! Out of all three children, he by far did the least crying, etc. Enjoy the video!

I can't stop myself.
