Lukes family party.

Saturday night we had a few family members over to celebrate lukes upcoming birthday. He will be 4 on Easter Sunday this year. Luke was so excited. I had heard all week "my friend Ben is coming to my party!"  We had pizza and cupcakes, fun times together, and of course - presents. It was a great night!!

A new car

Last week I called to catch up with my grandmother. It had been too long in both of our books, and I simply wanted to check in. Over the course of our conversation, catching up on her new place, how my kids are doing, how life is going... When she asked me to come see her I told her I'm working a lot of weekends, and that at the moment the van isn't that reliable for travel.

We hung up and I went on about the business of motherhood, ministry, photography work catch up, the rest of my day. That was Tuesday. Wednesday my dad called and told me something that left me speechless and teary. Grandma wanted to give me her car. Last fall she had a few health slip ups that made her have to give up her drivers license. They had been trying to sell her nearly new Impala for awhile and a buyer hadn't turned up. Evidently Tuesday night grandma prayed and God let her know to give me the car. She told me on Friday "I don't do anything without praying about it sarah."

Friday I rented a car and headed to Opelika Alabama to pick up the Impala.

To say God blessed us in such a huge way... I am just so very thankful. So thankful. To have this break in car repair payments. To have something reliable. To know everytime I turn on the ignition the gift and love of my sweet grandma.
This little woman. She means the world to me. I am so blessed to have her as mine.

Charleston

My goodness. What an amazing, quick getaway we had last weekend!  After we dropped the kids off on Friday morning, matt and I headed to Columbia for lunch with johnmark!  It was so good to see my brother!  Then we headed down to charleston. We had planned a one night - cram as much as we can into 24 hours - weekend.

First of all, why did no one tell me how amazing charleston is???  The architecture, the roads, the buildings, the piers, the beach...  It was a photographers paradise. That evening we had an amazing dinner at fleet landing. Fresh seafood for Matty and Jess. We strolled the streets before getting to see jesse in his play (it. Was. Hilarious!!!). Went back to sleep, and woke up early to walk on the beach (the isle of palms was pretty much deserted - it was gorgeous!) and eat brunch at the hominy grill.

It was so good to reconnect with matt. To laugh with him and just be "us". We can't wait for our next adventure!
