Dads 60th birthday weekend.

Last weekend was a treat. That isn't even the right word. It was a blessing.  All 5 of us Scoggins siblings were under the same roof. We got to honor my dad through words, great food, and time together for his 60th birthday celebration. We made some memories we will never ever forget. And we were reminded just how blessed we are to have two such incredible parents. Saturday we celebrated, and Sunday we ended the weekend all together in one row at first baptist hendersonville. That in itself was something amazing- I can't remember the last time all five us were together to sit under my dads preaching.

The weekend before Christmas.

I married a man who loves to mall walk. Especially at Christmas. He loves the chaos. He loves the decoration and glimpses of Santa. Crazily, we headed to Asheville the Saturday before Christmas. The grinch in me was not looking forward to it - but it turned out to be a wonderful day!  I got to shop a bit, we didn't lose any of the kids :), they got to jump at the jumping thing, Cracker Barrel for lunch... One of my most favorite - I mean most most favorite - parts of the Christmas season is the candlelight service at our
Church. It's the perfect time for reflecting on our Saviors birth. And with his birth, the path to the cross that give us our greatest gift -
Salvation. Luke loved the candles at the end. I have so loved watching the newness of Christmas season through my children's eyes!

Oh my Noah. You are smart, helpful, kind, crazy, silly, and fantastic. You are definitely a first born. You keep the cleanest room in the whole house. You strive for perfection in school. You have great friends. You love your iPad. You are a great big brother. And you love Jesus. You put a photo on Instagram this month and one of the answers said something like this "what I would change about my life: nothing. I love my life."  I love that about you. You are content.

I can't believe it's been 11 years since you stormed in to our life. You are the one that made me a mama. And I am so completely grateful that you are mine.

I pray this 11th year will bring you big adventures. That you will grow closer to the Lord. That you will listen as I yell "make good decisions" as you walk out the door. ;)

I am proud of you son. So very proud.
