More Nana and Papa pics

Nana and Papa time!

Nana and Papa got to come spend most of the week with us. We've had so much fun! The kids have gotten to swim, play at the park, McDonalds, slept in the "otel" and had a blast! Matt and I got some alone time too which was much needed.

It's amazing how fast time flies. Just a year ago the kids were so different! I found this picture from last summer while I was looking at some old pictures on Mary's computer. If they've changed this much in a year, I can only imagine how big they'll be next summer!

The "otel"

Yesterday was a long day for all of us. We met early in the morning with Mrs. Carrie Beth and her crew at the park and the WNC nature center. There Noah got attacked by a swarm of yellow jackets and had a minor allergic reaction. That afternoon we met up with Aunt Bekah and Will for a little while and got to go to Marion to see the progress on our house. Papa helped us get a "otel" to stay in so we wouldn't have to drive back to Hendersonville that night and so Aunt Bekah would have a place to stay with us. It was an eventful day! And from this day forward I will always carry benadryl with me!

Granny's got the magic touch

We've spent almost a week at Granny's house while Matt is at our house installing our new bathroom. Ella's been a little out of sorts and slightly spoiled by all the

people here. A few days while we've been here Ella's gotten really cranky and Granny has held her until she's really sleepy and then rocked her fully to sleep in the recliner. Ella never falls asleep like that for me!

Random pics stored on Mary's camera I just had to have...

Hendersonville

Sarah (me) and the kids are in Hendersonville for a long weekend while daddy is working on moving the bathroom in the house. Things are going well so far and we might get to go home tomorow. Today the kids and I went to JCPenney looking for Noah some summer pj's. We got him a 2 pack of his favorite character, sponge bob. While I was getting Noah dressed for bedtime, Ella decided that the other pair had to be hers and made sure I put the shirt on for her. Gram's in town for a few weeks so the kids posed on the couch with her.

Pray for this weekend!

Beginning tomorow, Matt and Mark will demo our current bathroom. Saturday we have a plumber and electrician coming in to move our current bathroom into the storage closet, and to make the old bathroom into Ella's bedroom. This project is so needed and past due! Pray that everything will go smoothly, that we won't run into any unexpected major problems, and that eventually, Ella will adjust to sleeping by herself in her big girl room. Thanks for walking alongside us in prayer!

The Terebithia Park

The first time we went to Montreat Park Noah looked at me in awe and went "this looks like Terebithia!" At the time he was obsessed with the movie The Bridge to Terebithia so now we call Montreat Park "Teribithia." We went on Monday with our
friends Andrea, Aidan, and baby Kaeler. We had a lot of fun on the playground but even more enjoyed the creek. We hadn't planned on Ella getting in but she wanted to be one of the boys and soaked her clothes. She hung out in her diaper until it was time to go. When Nana and Papa come up soon we'll have to take them to Terebithia!

Gaffney, SC

Saturday morning we got up early and went to see grandma and grandad while daddy played golf with his brothers. We got to see Cameron, Mel and Mark too! It was so hot (the car temp gauge read 104 degrees when we left!) so the boys ate popsicles and played in the shade. Ella and I got to see grandaddy at the guitar place too. It was fun and I hate we don't get to see these guys more often!

The graduate

Jesse graduated from high school on Friday night and we were all there to help him celebrate. Congrats Jess!

Yo-grit

Nick spent the night with us on Thursday. After we got home from swimming at the YMCA, the boys decided they wanted "Yo-grit." We tried several times to get them to pronounce the word "yogurt," but to no avail, the still call it "yo-grit." The things they say are cute...

Another day, another playdate, another adventure...

Today we went to storytime at the library, ate a picnic at the park, and played around in the splashpad. A group of mommies from the preschool and mothers morning out program at church have decided to form a little playgroup and we are having so much fun! Noah LOVES the splashpad, but Ella skirts around the middle. However, when the water turns off (it does every few minutes and you have to restart it), she runs to the middle to splash in the puddles, only to be shot in face when it starts again. Here's a pic of them congregating in the middle waiting for the water.

It's HOT outside!!

We had to turn on the air conditioner today. It is supposed to be in the mid nineties for the next few days! First I put Ella up on the counter to feel the cool air coming in, then Noah wanted to get up and feel it too. They enjoyed the countertop view so much, they stayed up there while I fixed lunch. Easy, free entertainment.
