March update

My blog has not been at the top of my priority list these days. I hate that, but life just gets in the way!
This month Ella started art classes. She needed an outlet that was just hers - and she is loving it. Each week she gets to go and make something new. She's always been our little artist and is truly gifted!  They great thing is that she gets to take these classes with her best friend Sylvie!
Noah and Ella had parent teacher conferences this week. They both are above grade level, and all of there teachers said to me "I wish I could have a class full of Noah/Ella's" because they behave so well in class.
Noah has been able to participate in an after school program this year called Battle of the Books. He has been assigned the book Savvy (he's read many other ones- this is the one he is assigned to defend) and will go to a county wide competition next month at the local community college.  He also has been asked to join the children's worship praise band on Sunday mornings. He's super proud and excited to use his singing talent to bring God glory.
Luke is hilarious. He is terrified of spiders.  He seeks out candy like it's his job. He loves playing with his friends every week and finally accepts going into the nursery on Sundays at church. I can't believe my boy will be 3 in just a few weeks!
Matt and I are living life. We get a much needed vacation for just the two of us soon and I am consumed with joy/packing/anticipation of our uninterrupted time together.

The Siak 5 is in a constant busy season but we are blessed immensely through all we have going on!

In sickness and in health

Let me tell you. When your kids are sick, your world stops. Last Wednesday Luke started running a fever and I had no idea what was in front of us. Thursday night his fever got so high my poor babe started to hallucinate. A viral diagnosis at the doctor sent us home for a rocky journey through the next few days filled with ibuprofen and puke buckets. But. There is light at the end of the tunnel- I think we are close to this mess being over!  Luke is so busy- everyday- all day. I cherished holding him and praying over him for the past few days.

We had already planned long ago for my cousin Anna Ruth to come in for the weekend. I didn't bother telling her about the plague that was hitting our house because on Thursday the doctor said it should be over quickly (woah- she was wrong). Anna Ruth came up- was a champ as I cleaned up the nastiness, and Matt let us have a day off in Asheville on Saturday. It was such a nice break!
I introduced her to my favorite places. Tupelo honey for lunch, thrift and junk stores. It was so much fun to take my mom hat off for the day. Luke was gracious to matt and waited Til we got home to start throwing up again so I didn't get any 911 calls to come home (matt doesn't do kid bodily fluids- it's just not his thing).

We got some neat trinkets and good deals.  And had some great girl time.

Pray my babes will all return to good health ASAP (the older two have coughs too) and that with spring around the corner, the germs will flee!
