Golfing with dad

Oh Lukey, you bring us so much joy. Last weekend matt took Luke for his first golf outing. Luke is matts shadow. If Matt has a project to work on, Luke wants to help. He will gladly hold a tool, stand at the bottom of the attic steps, or just observe, to be close to his daddy. On this cold but sunny day, Luke had so much fun on the golf course with Matt!  I know this is the beginning of many golf outings for our boy. I can remember so many times rolling down the hills while dad played golf. And now my kids get to do the same thing with their daddy. I love how these two love each other.

Two Months Old

Two months old...

You love milk.  You have decided you really like to have your clothes off.  You love your siblings.  And you are starting to smile at us!!  You are giving mama a 5 hour stretch at night... but that starts at around 9pm (we are hoping to push that back or extend it somehow soon!).  You went to church  for the first time this month!

Stats:  11 lb. 1oz., 21 1/4 inches long.

We love you sweet girl!

Daddy daughter dance

Our local YMCA threw a daddy daughter dance tonight and I am so glad Matt was able to take Ella!  He brought her flowers for her big date night, and she bought a new dress. They danced to My Girl, she made crafts, and they played in the photo booth. I am so thankful for the opportunity for Matt to be able to show Ella just how special she is to us.

14 years

Fourteen years. It feels like a lifetime, in the best of ways. As I'm rocking the youngest siak to sleep, I can't help but think back to all our adventures over the past years. We were so young and naive when we got married, and I am so thankful for the grace of God that has brought us to where we are today. My Matty is the silver lining to my days. He's the source of so much laughter in our home. He is a great daddy (although he was bragging this weekend about only changing 2 of Evelyn's diapers so far in her entire life- I have to let some things slide).  He sacrifices and works so hard for our family. He puts our marriage first and chooses me every day. What we have is so special. And I know I take it for granted often. My prayer is for that our children will find what we have together in a mate one day.

Happy anniversary, Matty. I am so thankful for you.

Super food bowl

This Meme cracked me up- because honestly, I host a super bowl party for our life group every year just for the food. And if I had to be really, really honest, I would rather be watching Downton Abbey that was on at the same time (it's on my DVR for rest time this week!).

Dressed in our bronco gear, and mentally torn between matts life long love for the Broncos and our admiration for the panthers cam newton, we hosted our annual life group super bowl party last night. There was so much food, and our friends are hilarious. The kids had a blast too with all of our friends kiddos. I'm so thankful for these 3 couples who "do life" with us. We are so thankful God brought us all together so many years ago!

Busy weeks.

Yesterday it was 2pm and I had the thought "how is it already the afternoon". Time is just daily flying by. Our days are busy, but so happy.
Matt gave Luke his old Mikey from Goonies figurine. Luke loves movies, and loves his action figures. This one cracked me up - Mikey's hands are interchangeable- one is holding an inhaler!

Dinners are so often filled with laughter. And this particular taco night wasn't short on laughs.

Ella received a character award for respect at school. This Monday she will receive more awards. I've always heard how much of a joy she is at school. I am so proud of her!

If you need Noah, he's somewhere holding Ev. All day, anytime he can. It's such a blessing to me how willing he is to help with her.
