This past winter we saw more snow than we've ever seen. It would snow on top of snow, and because of how shaded our house is, it would never melt. The back part of our house, over our laundry room, has a flat roof. During the last snow melt we noticed a small leak over the door that went from our laundry room to our well room (yes, our well is inside our house - totally crazy). Matt climbed on top of the roof, pulled back the shingles and found major rot. So bad that we had to pull the entire roof off. Then gut every bit of sheetrock, insulation, and framing for the two rooms. Mind you, this was three months ago. After countless hours of Matt working, some help from family, and more hours of Matt working, I can proudly say it is finished. At one point, you could open the door to our laundry room and see the sky. We were blessed to be able to get the roof off, re-framed, and put back on before any major rain storms. That was probably two months ago. Since then Matt has worked nights and weekends to get it put all back together. I am so glad that this project is over, and now we can move on to the next one - installing the new flooring in two weeks!
PS: My husband is amazing, he rarely complains, works a 10 hour day and then more hours at home at night. He is a great wood-worker, electrician, sheetrock-hanger and master craftsman. I am so blessed to have such a handyman!
